Come meet the inhabitants of Jib Camp. A homeless camp in Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. Fueled by crystal meth, the ... all ยป inhabitants come alive at night, cycling around the city and park foraging for food, and anything they can trade for crystal. Meet James, self proclaimed jibmaster of the park, and his friendly apprentice ,Ian . Both depending on each other to watch each other's back and to help each other through the rough times. All seen through the eyes of Matt, a youth at risk who lives on his brother's couch, but walks the fine line between addiction and homelessness . Matt has even chosen a hollowed out old growth tree as a future home and seems to look up to Jibmaster James as a father figure. Between the fierce cold of decembers foggy freeze, thieving raccoons, and the parks board we see that being homeless is a full time job. And humiliation is humiliation only when you choose to suffer

When I hear these guys say they have lived like that for 8 months or whatever, I say fucking A. If I were homeless for 2 fucking days, I would do whatever it takes to IMMEDIATELY get off the streets. Cut your fucking hair, get a shave, find a shower, change your clothes and accept the first job offered to you. These lazy vermin get what they deserve.

I will say one thing, depending on where you live, if you have children living with you the government programs etc. are more likely to help you. Many people dont have kids, or the kids are over 18 and they cant get into a shelter or get any sort of help

Jul 4, 2008 - These guys know how to live outside. These guys in the video are smart, smart people, they know how to live. The second I saw the enthusiasm 40 seconds in I was surprised as hell. Holy crap I never thought I would have this much respect for the homeless. These guys know how to live.Trust me this isn't the case in most homeless people, most people want to get off the street. It's a hard life but these guys have shown it's possible.I still wouldn't recommend doing drugs :).
